What can I expect?

Gain the essential skills and knowledge you need to launch your career in finance. You will learn practical bookkeeping skills and accounting concepts that will give you an advantage when applying for bookkeeping and accounts roles.

You will develop an understanding of essential financial elements of a business, including financial reporting, business activity statements (BAS) and accounting and payroll systems. This will support you to ensure a company meets statutory, legislative, and regulatory requirements.

Upon graduation, you will meet the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) education requirements for registration, allowing you to prepare and lodge Business and Instalment Activity Statements (BAS). Other conditions may apply, including a designated period of experience.

With a Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping, you will:

    Develop professional working relationships that support you in identifying and meeting a business’s compliance requirements.
  • null
    Understand and implement general ledger, chart of accounts and subsidiary accounts according to organisational requirement, policies and procedures, including the processing of transactions, system maintenance and production of reports.

    Confidently calculate and reconcile salaries, wages and other payments and verify and calculate pay as you go instalment (PAYGI).
  • null
    Establish a sound knowledge of business activity compliance and prepare and reconcile activity statement reports, identify and correct errors and amend bookkeeping entries.
  • null
    Be able to effectively set up and operate a computerised accounting system.

You will be required to follow your training plan. This will be discussed and agreed upon at induction. If you do not meet the obligation of the agreed timeframe, other charges may be applicable. Maximum time frames are subject to volumes of learning and qualifications being superseded.

Further charges may be applied if student obligations are not met in accordance with the agreed timeframes stated in the student training plan, discussed and determined at induction. Maximum time frames are subject to recommended study load and potential nationally authorised changes to qualification criteria.

When we receive your application, we will send you an email regarding the pre-enrolment eligibility requirements, including a Language Literacy and Numeracy assessment, Recognition of Prior Learning application and an outline of documentation required for your enrolment to proceed.

Meet your mentor

We will call you to confirm details, discuss eligibility, workplace and assessment requirements and ensure everything is correct.

This interview forms part of your orientation into your course and will allow you to ask further questions.

You will then be required to make payment.

Once payment is received, we will then send you the Confirmation of Enrolment (COE). This Includes details of your Educator and your Training Plan outlining the units you are undertaking and due dates.

You will receive an email with your login details. Remember these details and bookmark the login URL in your browser. Logging in will give you access to your first unit in the online portal.
